The Company:

The Faithdean Group is based in Lordswood, Kent; however, the majority of the construction projects are concentrated in or around Central London.

The Group undertakes a variety of construction activities, mainly as the Principal Contractor, a selection of the type of works is listed below:

  • New build RC and steel frame developments, from ground works to completed projects.
  • Large-scale demolitions and new construction to create office / commercial accommodation.
  • High-end interior fit out to Cat A & B standards.
  • Delivering bespoke construction solutions for domestic clients.


The Job:

We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety Manager, who will work alongside the Group Health & Safety Manager, based in our Chatham office.

A summary of the main roles and responsibilities are:

  • Maintain good health and safety practice on construction projects, office, and warehouse environments.
  • Undertake site inspections and compliance audits on group construction projects.
  • In line with legislative changes, or industry working practices, assist with the review, and update, of Health & Safety Policies, documentation and procedures – Allied to an Integrated Management System.
  • Provide practical input, and assist with continual improvements to the following accreditations - OHSAS18001, ISO14001 & ISO 9001
  • Arrange staff training, and refresher training, (where required), for all group personnel, to include upkeep of Training Records.
  • Carry out Fire Risk Assessments, within a variety of workplace environments, such as; offices, warehouse and construction projects.
  • When required undertake Accident/Incident reporting - to include analysis and identification of the root cause.
  • Provide Health & Safety support, advice and solutions to the Faithdean Group


The Person:

The candidate must be able to liaise with staff at all levels, have a thorough practical knowledge of current health and safety legislation, with particular emphasis on CDM, the management of asbestos, lead, and all aspects of fire safety. They must possess good communication skills, (written and verbal), be conversant with Microsoft Word and Excel. Also, it would be desirable to have an understanding of Project Information Management system (e.g. Union Square). The candidate must be able to accurately identify safety shortcomings - and table practical solutions. Experience in construction refurbishment - working for a Principal Contractor is desirable, but not essential.



To be considered, you must hold as a minimum:

  • NEBOSH (Construction) Certificate, or subject to experience, may consider NCRQ
  • Tech IOSH membership, or equivalent, (e.g. AIIRSM)



In addition to the position, the candidate must hold a full clean UK driving license and have their own transport. Salary dependant on experience.
